SWINE FLU AND TAMIFLU

From the Houston Chronicle:

“Parents panicked over whether their sick children might have swine flu are unnecessarily clogging Houston's emergency rooms, and supplies of the most popular flu symptom-fighting drug aren't meeting the region's demand, health officials said Thursday.

The incredible statement in the Chronicle article comes half-way through the piece. Get this:

“And for those who receive a prescription, Tamiflu — a drug that lessens symptoms and cuts illness by about one day — can be tough to find.

“I'm hearing from a lot of folks that the pharmacies don't have it,” said Dr. David Persse, the city of Houston's public health authority.

“That's dangerous for people in high-risk groups.”

Yes, very dangerous. They need that drug that could cut the duration of the flu by one day. ONE DAY.

Let’s have a national rally and prayer gathering so we can all get Tamiflu.

You know the press has gone completely off the rails when they state the drug is useless and then don’t even bother to understand what they just said.

And of course they don’t look into the adverse effects of Tamiflu. Aside from the common effects---nausea, vomiting, bronchitis (isn’t that a lot like the flu?), insomnia, and vertigo---we have the so-called “psychiatric” effects: self-injury; sudden aggression; confusion; delirium; disorientation; hallucinations; suicide.

But, for possibly shortening the duration of the flu for one day, wow, who cares? Get that drug.

By the way, you can google “health workers refuse Swine Flu vaccine” and a bunch of articles will jump up at you. Seems the nurses and even doctors around the world are just saying no to the vaccine. The basic reasons they’re giving? They don’t see Swine Flu as a serious illness and they’re not confident the vaccine is safe.

But I guess they will inject the vaccine into other people. Very nice. First, do no harm. Remember that little item in the medical oath?

Nurses and doctors in the US, back in 2003, began backing away from taking---and in that case, giving---the smallpox vaccine we were told we had to have to stave off an imminent smallpox pandemic. These health workers essentially collapsed the whole vaccine program and the federal government slunk off without a word, their tails between their legs.

And then? The government developed a rapid case of amnesia about the terrorist-induced epidemic they said was coming. They didn’t care. They just moved on to other things. Why? Because they knew there was no epidemic of smallpox on the horizon. There were just pharmaceutical profits from manufacturing all that vaccine the government had bought. THAT was the continuing epidemic.

And sure enough, the smallpox epidemic that was going to kill and maim millions never showed up.

Neither did massive predicted epidemics of West Nile disease or SARS or Bird Flu show up. Remember?

But NOW we REALLY have to listen to the government and the CDC and WHO because this IS the big one. They may have been lying before, but not now. This is different. We know it’s different because, well, the press coverage is super-saturated. The media virus is stronger this time.
