FOUR STEPS TO A GREAT LIFE My grandmother always used to say, “It’s a GREAT LIFE!” That has stayed with me. She was doing something right. You can choose to be happy or you can choose to be miserable, but IT SURE HELPS TO FEEL GOOD. In my 20 years of practice as a nutritional and hormonal consultant, I am seeing more people now with depression, weight gain, and hormone imbalance. Yes, even men. Empowerment and education are what we focus on with our clients. The responsibility from that point is the client’s. And that is the best part of empowerment – the things you do for yourself! Here are our suggestions: FOUR STEPS TO A GREAT LIFE 1) Eat real food, whether you are overweight or not. Eat slow food – food that you prepare, or food that is made freshly for you. Don’t use meal replacements, energy bars, fast food, boxed food – but REAL FOOD. Food that is alive, not dead. Shelved or fast, overcooked dead food does not create life in your body. Yes, it takes a little extra time, but eating food prepared by your hands or that of a family member, adds a nutrient unto itself. Look for lots of color in your meals. That translates into lots of different vitamins and minerals. 2) Utilize proper nutritional supplementation. Speak to your doctor or health practitioner about what is right for you. If you’re not satisfied with his or her answer, then find someone whose answer you like. These days, with the nutrient deficiency in our food supply – and it is rampant, we must supplement our daily food intake with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, amino acids and proper fats. This is often an individual issue. You may want to ask your health practitioner about the Bio Terrain testing, done through a urine sample that helps determine what deficiencies you may have, and how your supplements are working for you. You might also ask what your blood test results mean, from the nutritional standpoint. There are many clues in a blood test that are often overlooked. 3) Time to get off the hormone roller coaster. There is so much unnecessary suffering – hot flashes, weight gain, erectile dysfunction, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and pain. Hormone problems are rampant in our society – among men, women, and children. Hormone balance is the cornerstone of healthy functioning of every system in our bodies – metabolism, growth and repair, energy production. And as many of you have seen in the media, traditional hormone replacement therapy has received a lot of negative press, with government reports of dangerous health consequences. People are looking for safe and natural alternatives. Hormone balancing assessments and products abound. Checking your adrenal stress and sex hormone is best done through saliva testing. Use this method for a deeper look. Utilize natural hormone creams and methods to meet your individual needs. 4) Balance the stress in your life. Do whatever it takes – meditate, pray, affirm, breathe. Take time to appreciate the good things. Choose the proper exercise/activity program for where you’re at in life right now. If you’re highly stressed, then high impact, hard-hitting exercise may not be what you need right now. Dealing with these stress factors improves your mental/emotional well being, sleep, and stress relief. Your health is at your fingertips. Take the plunge to – A GREAT LIFE. Joy is yours!
